GREEN STEEL FOR SUSTAINABLE VENTILATION SOLUTIONS
15/05/2025

Ariston Group announces that its strategic global brand WOLF is integrating CO2-reduced steel into a large part of its HVAC product range, sending a strong signal for climate protection and resource conservation. As a driver of innovation, WOLF is working closely with ArcelorMittal, one of the world's leading steel manufacturers.

For its steel-galvanized components, the systems provider uses ArcelorMittal's XCarb® recycled and renewably produced product – a particularly sustainable form of steel production. The XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel is produced in the electric arc furnace of ArcelorMittal's plant in Sestao, Spain. It consists of at least 75% recycled material and is produced exclusively with electricity from 100% renewable energy.

As a result, the hot-dip galvanized steel used for WOLF has a CO₂ footprint of only 877 kg per ton – compared to 2,570 kg for conventionally produced steel. These values are based on Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), which are based on life cycle analyses in accordance with EN 15804 and ISO 14025.

With the integration of XCarb® recycled and renewably produced, WOLF is consistently expanding its sustainability strategy: Customers can choose the "Green Steel" option for the majority of ventilation units in the quotation process – including the KG Top series. The selection is transparently documented: a technical data sheet shows both the CO₂ share of the material used and the concrete savings achieved.
